We’ll meet at the local fully enclosed and fenced off leash dog park at Lake Padden (about ½ mile from Dawn’s house) where we’ll
watch our pack of hounds run roughshod over all the other slow dogs, and then we’ll walk to the lake shore where we can
enjoy a picnic lunch. The paths around Lake Padden are beautiful and well manicured for strolling. There will be other
leashed dogs walking along these paths with regular park visitors.
The dog park can get muddy so bring some towels, which also may come in handy for any errant swamphounds in the bunch.
The weather may be cool as well, so bring your wind breakers. We’ll have a couple of shelters set up for the group.
Bring your lunch and a chair. After the run we’ll caravan back to the house and leave the dogs with four thrilled
dog-sitters, Holly, Samantha, Emily, and Maddie, and for those who have time, we’ll go to dinner at a local
(to be decided) restaurant. Holly and Dawn do request that a number of us take a walk around the neighborhood
before dinner (especially any guest gorgeous borzoi) just to show off!
Directions to the Lake Padden dog park from the NORTH:
Take the SAMISH WAY exit off I-5 -- EXIT 252-
Turn LEFT at the stoplight to go across the bridge.
Turn RIGHT at the next stoplight (just across the bridge) to travel on S SAMISH WAY. You’ll drive a bit over 2 miles. You’ll see Lake Padden on the right and pass by the West Lake Padden entrance. (This is the entrance to the swimming beach. It is NOT where we’re going. )
Stay on Samish Way and turn RIGHT into the East Lake Padden entrance. Drive through the trees (don’t bear left into the golf course) to the very end of the last parking lot. The dog area is on the left. Call us on the cell phone if you have problems. 360-223-0154.
Directions to Lake Padden dog park from the SOUTH:
Take Exit 246 (right) off Interstate 5, N. Lake Samish.
At the stop sign at the off ramp, turn LEFT on to Samish Way, heading toward Lake Padden. Travel about 2.3-ish miles on this road, past the small golf course on the left.
Turn LEFT into the East Lake Padden entrance. (if you get to the West Lake Padden entrance, you’ve driven too far.) Drive through the trees (don’t bear left into the golf course) to the very end of the last parking lot. The dog area is on the left. Call us on the cell phone if you have problems. 360-223-0154.
